Answer - Riddles for Kids and their Curious Parents No.4

Whapa! We’re not sure how we came up with this one, but it was worth it. So, without further hassle let’s dive into the answer to our Split The Bucket Riddle.

Solving the Riddle

Whoosh! So we got 2 water containers. One for 3 liters and the second for 5 liters. Let’s go over the steps that would enable us to measure exactly 4 liters of water.

Step 1:

Fill the 3L Container with water. Then, go ahead and pour it into the 5L Container.

Step 2:

Fill the 3L Container again, and pour it into the 5L Container until it’s full.

We should have 1 liter left in the 3L Container.

Step 3:

Spill out and empty the 5L Container. Then pour 1 liter from the 3L to the 5L Container.

We Should have 1 liter of water in the 5L Container by now.

Final Step:

Now we just need to fill the 3L container up and pour it all into the 5L Container that already has 1 liter in it. And now it’s done! We did it.

Do you feel like your brain is melting too? Can’t resist that feeling.
